New Kindle Fire May Rival the iPad in Popularity

Today, Amazon introduced its first tablet, the Kindle Fire. It seems that the Fire is destined to give the iPad a run for its money. It runs Android, but is totally integrated into Amazon's app, movie, mp3, and e-book store. Other tablets have tried to create their own app and content stores. However, tablets such as the BlackBerry playbook have never been able to match the iPad's popularity. Why? Part of the reason is that tablet makers have not been able to supply large integrated app and content stores comparable to Apple's. Other tablet makers have been making app and content stores to go along with their tablets, but Amazon made a tablet to go along with its app and content stores, if you get my drift.

The Kindle Fire is available for pre-order for $199.
