Timbuk2 Quickie Laptop Bag Review

The Timbuk2 Quickie laptop bag aims to be the bag you grab when you want to transport just your laptop and a few odds and ends. Let's see how well it lives up to its goal, shall we?

But first, let me tell you a little bit about the Quickie. It comes in four sizes: extra small for e-readers and tablets, small, medium and large. The Quickie comes in four different colors: blue, gunmetal, black, and green. My Quickie is a small in gunmetal.

Let's take a look at the Quickie's simple layout. In front, peel back the velcro flap and you will be greeted by two large pockets, one for your charging cord and power brick, and the other for extra storage.

Pull back the zipper in the middle of the bag, and you have a place to store your laptop, tablet or e-reader. It has padded studs to protect your gadget from bumps. The main liner is not very cushy, but the studded fabric is just as or more protective than regular lining. Overall, it is a simple layout, and you can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it if you need to!

On top, Two D-rings are ready to attach the optional shoulder strap. There are also two handles that can be tucked away if desired.

As you can tell, the Quickie is not really a formal bag. The black color version looks quite professional, but the colored versions might best suited for casual occasions. I think it is best suited for toting your laptop on errands, or to school, the library, etc.

The Quickie is one tough little bag. It is made of stiff oxford nylon, and constructed well, so it should last a long, long time.

All in all, the Quickie is a great choice for those looking for an uncomplicated, durable, and lightweight laptop bag.
