Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Commuter Laptop Bag Review

The Commuter comes in Peony and Quartz Grey. Mine is Peony, obviously. :)

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Commuter laptop bag is certainly stylish, but how practical is it to use? Read on for my take!

First, let's take a tour around my Peony Commuter. On the outside, it is embroidered with the letters that make up the words Marc Jacobs. On the front is a Marc by Marc Jacobs plaque and two handles. On the sides, there are rings for attaching the optional shoulder strap.

The inside compartment, which fits 15" laptops, is lined with soft, taupe, faux fur. The compartment is exceptionally well padded. While it isn't going to save a laptop dropped on concrete, it does give you a little more piece of mind than other bags do.

On the back, a small pocket with a Velcro closure has its home. This pocket is big enough for a smart phone or a laptop charger and cord, but not much else. In my opinion, two medium pockets would be much handier. That way a charging cord and a cell phone could be stored in separate pockets so nothing would get scratched.

The Commuter has some really nice details. The zippers are branded and the shoulder strap hooks are metal.

Overall, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Commuter laptop bag is fashionable (albeit a little gaudy in my opinion), but lacks the amount of storage I would prefer. If you love the way it looks and don't mind only one pocket and the price tag of $128, go for it.
